Adaline Wetherell

Appeals and post-conviction

Adaline Wetherell works on the part of a case that comes after the trial. She began as a trial lawyer, and moved to appeals when she found she preferred reading a record to arguing over one.

Her days are mostly transcripts, rules and drafts. She writes every brief herself, argues it herself when the court hears argument, and answers her own phone.

The office

Where the work is done

The office is on Carey Avenue, a few blocks from the capitol and the courthouses where most of her cases began. Clients come from across the state and beyond it; many never visit, and send the file by mail.

If you would rather talk in person, call for a time. If you can’t travel, she will read your file and talk by phone.

Ask Adaline about your case

Send the judgment and its date. She reads first, then writes back about timing.
